WEEE India was set up following a request to the UKTI from an Indian based company to be introduced to a UK company with expertise in WEEE compliance management and systems. Deadline for Authorisation is 31 July 2012

WEEE India was formed and for the past 12 months AVC Weeeco Ltd have been involved in developing, with assistance from UKTI, The British Embassy in India, Indian Government and key stakeholder organisations in India, a “Free of Charge” online registration for authorisation portal www.weeeindia.com. The alternative to this for producers is to submit paperwork to many pollution control offices throughout India dependent on their circumstances. We are contacting all producers in the world as we would like to engage with the person or persons within their organisation responsible for E Waste Compliance in India. If they are not the person and the organisation registered as a producer elsewhere in the world is only an exporter to India then are we respectfully requesting them to immediately forward this on to the person responsible. If effected and/or not sure and you would like to speak to someone on this please call +44 191 423 6232 and ask for Azita Coupland. As of the 1st May 2012 Producers, as defined in Chapter 1 of Indian E Waste (Management and Handling) Rules 2011, shall obtain Authorisation within 3 months from the appropriate State Pollution Control Board or Pollution Control Committee of Union territories of India.
